Grapes have been around for decades. In the past, they were widespread and were primarily used to make wine. Grapes come in many types starting with yellow, red, black, pink, and green. They offer very many health benefits, including:

Making your grape juice at home ensures you and your family consume chemical-free and nutritional drinks. Homemade grape juice is easily made from scratch, with or without a juicer. Don't worry if your first batch doesn't come out perfect. You will improve with time, and you will be able to make the most nutritious and sweet homemade grape juice ever.
Homemade Grape Juice Using a Juicer
Juicing grapes gives you a more concentrated grape juice without the pulp. The grape juice is absorbed into your bloodstream much faster than when it has all the pulp that requires a longer time to digest before your body absorbs it.
- 2 ½ pounds of concord grapes
- Concord grapes
- Storage jars
- Clean your concord grapes and remove them from the stems
- Put them into your juicer and squeeze the grapes into a collecting containe.
- Let it sit for about at least two hours in the refrigerator and allow it to chill
- Carefully remove the grape juice and sieve it carefully, sieve into a jar and discard the sediments at the bottom
- Serve the grape juice chilled
- You can refrigerate and consume within a few days.
Homemade Grape Juice without a Juicer
- Cleaned and stemmed concord grapes-25 pounds
- One cup of water
What You’ll Need
- A water bath canner
- Clean storage jars
- Bands and lids
- A cheesecloth
- Canning tools including a lid and jar lifter, funnels, and canning ladle
- A few kitchen utensils including a saucepan, a large bowl, a medium pot, a large spoon, a potato masher, and a kitchen towel.
- Mix water and the concord grapes in the saucepan and put on low heat. Simmer until the grapes release the juice, and the skins are tender. Mash them gently and continue simmering for 15 more minutes over low heat while stirring occasionally.
- Strain the juice using a double-layered cheesecloth and discard the pulp. Store the grape juice in the refrigerator for 36 hours, undisturbed for the residues to settle. It helps eliminate crystals in the homemade grape juices.
- When your grape juice is ready, set up your jars together with the covers by cleaning in warm water, then rinse them out. Put a container rack in the water bath canners, and put the jars in your canners. Add boiling water, and continue boiling for about 10 minutes till they are sterile. Warm the jar covers in a little pot on low heat. Keep the jars and covers luke-warm until the grape juice is ready for canning.
- Remove the juice carefully from the fridge and ensure not to disturb sediments. Filter the grape juice through a paper coffee filter into a clean container and do away with the residues. Add the grape juice into a saucepan and boil for 10-12 minutes, and stir occasionally.
- Place your towel on a flat surface. Carefully remove your jars from the canner and drain them. Using a ladle and a funnel, transfer your grape juice to the pre-warmed jars and leave at least ¼ inch of space. Cover using the lids tightly.
- Use the jars lifter and carefully place the jars into the canner and leave a little room. Increase the water level to cover the jars slightly. Boiling water is ideal, and ensure not to pour it directly onto the jars.
- Cover the canner and bring it to boil vigorously over slightly high heat. Boil the grape juice for at least five minutes.
- Please turn off the heat after five minutes and leave it for at least 10 minutes to settle. Again place your towel on a flat surface. Remove your jars from the canner and put them on the kitchen towel. Leave the jars to cool down for at least 24hours.
- After 24 hours, make sure the lids are tightly sealed. Refrigerate the jars and consume your homemade grape juice within a few days.
- The grape juice is best served chilled.
Both recipes are made without sugar, but you can add sugar to your taste. Either way, the grape juice will be nutritious and refreshing.
